The 2015 Cape Town Classic 470 Regatta Photos & Results!

Hi All We are delighted to have hosted the inaugural Cape Town Classic – as spontaneously named by the group of competing sailors! This is the first “international Olympic 470 event” here in South African waters, and it comprised 8 races in everything from 6 to 30 knots. We are starting small with this, but we would love to see it GROW! Scroll down to the RESULTS and a few PHOTOS that tell a bit of the story and of the teams involved. Following 2 weeks of intensive 470 training involving teams from Canada, Sweden & South African, including 10 young SA sailors, we wrapped up the camp with an actual regatta off Granger Bay, beneath the majestic Table Mountain and right in the City of Cape Town. Many thanks to our sponsors and supporters Southern Charter Wealth Management, Synergy Income Fund, OpenBox Software, SA Sailing, SASCOC, MACSTEEL, Musto, Southern Ropes, MACS Shipping who make this sort of thing, and everything else we do in our campaign, possible. To all those around the world – feel free to come and join us next time here in South Africa! And please pass this on to anyone who you think may be interested.
