THIS WEEKEND
TGIF – This Friday, Upper Deck open from 17h30 with iPod music. Samoosa’s available at the bar, or bring and braai. The perfect day for a light sail and sundowners! Come and enjoy your club!!
Alfred’s have a single scull sprint regatta planned on Saturday from 07h00. Club office and upper deck (for viewing) will be open from 09h00 to 13h00.
Vlei Rat Series First race now 10h00, best to make use of the early morning conditions, second race to start 11h30 to include the Opti B’s. And the PM race will start at 14h00.

LAST WEEKEND
Alfred’s had a terrific turnout for their Heads Regatta on Saturday with 18 boats (8’s and quads). A well organised, well attended, fantastic day of rowing!

Sunday saw our juniors take to the water with Intermediate and B-Fleet Opti’s training along side the Dabchicks. The A-Fleet joined in on the Vlei Rat Series. We had a great turnout with racing starting at 10h00. There were 4 starts to the day and only morning racing. Vlei Rat Series continues this Sunday. OTHER NEWS
Youth Sailing Worlds Championships – 9th to 16th December
Sonja Stock, Laser Radial, and Elsje Dijkstra on 420 with Michaela Robinson are part of the Youth Worlds team travelling to Sanya, China. They have been training hard in Granger Bay under the guidance of Roger Hudson and Alex Burger.

Swimming Pool
As per the law and our constitution, for safety reasons members are reminded that no juniors are permitted to be alone in the swimming pool. They will have to be accompanied by someone aged 18 or older.

Sunday, 19th November – Braam Halherbe at ZVYC
We are delighted to be able to announce that Braam Malherbe is going to be giving his riveting talk on his experiences earlier this year in undertaking (and succeeding) in the first unassisted row across the Atlantic from Cape Town to Rio.
It promises to be a great talk – please join us, and invite anyone else who might be interested. Braam Flyer
