KZN Grand Slam
Well done to our members (Laser Radial: Kai Leslie- winner & Elsje Dijkstra) who took part in the Kwazulu Natal Grand Slam in Durban.

UCTYC Frostbite Regatta: This is for Extra’s and Sonnet’s only. Starting time is 10h00 this Saturday at UCTYC. We take this opportunity of mentioning to all UCT members are welcome to sail in all our events scheduled for Sunday’s from 10h00.

ZVYC has an exciting NEW junior training program! Meet the coaches for the season as well as the Commodore and Committee.
SAS Level 3 Coaches Course
A very successful course was held over a 4 day period at our club which was praised for the facilities by Lucy de Freitas of SAS-KZN. See photo for some of the participants!
ZVYC Opening Cruise – Sunday 4th September 2016 @ 09h00
Calling ALL members! Make a note: Sunday 4th September 2016! Come down to the club for a spectacular Opening Cruise! BRING A FRIEND OR TWO! Bring the Family! We will have an action packed day starting with The Commodore’s Welcome and Guest Speaker Greg Bertish (thelittleoptimist).
After lunch, there will be a fun sailing race and guests can partake in the sailing on our club boats.
Southern Charter Classic 1, Incorporating Spring Open at ZVYC
This event is on for the weekend of 17th & 18th September 2016, including Bart’s Bash on the 
Sunday. Registration will be similar to that of the Grand Slam where you can enter online and will only include 3 events, the regatta’s are at ZVYC, TSC and HYC. Free camping will be allowed at our club.
Although late notice, we are working frantically on getting the NOR and Entry Forms out to your members. A poster is in the course of preparation. As usual, we are looking desperately for helpers in safety boats and race officials.
Sailing Research: Stellenbosch University Sports Science Department are looking to test sailors over the age of 18 years for an Honours research project being completed on sensory dependence, executive functioning and performance. Testing sessions will last 45 min to an hour at a venue to be decided on Saturday 27th August.
