We welcomed new Junior members and caught up with Junior’s from last season. It 
is going to be a jam packed season, kicking off with the training camp next weekend! Have you booked your spot yet?
Also at the club on Sunday were the Zeekoevlei Sailing Centre, training for the upcoming season!

ZVYC Opening Cruise – Sunday 4th September 2016 @ 09h00
Come down to the club for our Opening Cruise! BRING A FRIEND OR TWO! We will have an action packed day starting with The Commodore’s Welcome and Guest Speaker Greg Bertish (thelittleoptimist). After the Commodore’s salute, stay in your boats and partake in a fun race. Lunch to follow and Upper Deck bar open!
Members, please remember to bring a plate of snacks (sweet or savoury).

Junior Training Camp – 9th to 11th September

Two posters are attached, the one includes high performance training which is an extra night and an extra meal for the bigger boats and the Optimist A&B Fleets; the second poster is for only Saturday night for the novice and beginner sailors.
It’s not too late to register your child for our Junior Training Term (25 Sep to 27 Nov)!

OTHER NEWS
Southern Charter Classic Series 1
This event is on for the weekend of 17th & 18th September 2016, including Bart’s Bash on the 
Sunday. Registration will be similar to that of last year where you can enter online: southernchartersailing.com
The website includes all information including an abbreviated Notice of Race. The Series will only include 3 events; the regatta’s are at ZVYC, TSC and HYC.
Free camping will be allowed at ZVYC.
A poster is in the course of preparation.
As usual, we are looking desperately for volunteers in safety boats and race officials. Please contact the office (021 705 3373) should you be able to assist us. Thank you in advance!

Dear members, please pay your subs for the upcoming year. Subs are due to be paid by the end of August or the Opening Cruise. Please call the office for payment plans or other options. You or your family do not want to be considered defaulters.
