Dear Sailors and Friends,
Junior Registration
Parents and Juniors, the Junior registration for our new term is on Sunday 28th August 2016 from 09h00 at the club. We have a new program lined up for all the fleets!
Our Opening Cruise will be held on Sunday 4th September and Juniors are encouraged to “bring a friend” as lots of fun is going to be had! We have a special guest speaker, Greg Bertish, who recently sailed an Optimist from Cape Town to Langebaan! Check out his Facebook Page: thelittleoptimist
The Junior Training Sleepover Camp will be held over the weekend of the 10th & 11th September, this is for Optimist, Dabchick and Laser.
THIS WEEKEND
The clubhouse will be closed from 15h30 on Friday for the weekend! Please make arrangements with the office should you have any requirements.

Lipton Cup Challenge
Message from Heidi Burger and Team ZVYC: “So after a broken mast and a broken gooseneck, we managed to pull through yesterday and achieve an 9th! Thank goodness for the postponement due to no wind, because we had to weigh in all over again thanks to our new mast. Somehow we lost 20kg by putting in a new mast, so an extra 20kg of lead needed to be found to get the boat to the right weight! All in all, we made it out to the racing in time. We had an awesome race with perfect gybes, perfect tacks and a whoo at every good spinnaker drop! Thanks to Coach Taariq Jacobs for pulling through like he always does by setting up our rig beautifully. Shoutout to Ricky Robinson for helping us out.”

SAS is excited to be offering SAS Sailing Instructors the opportunity to become SAS Regional Instructor Developers. Full details and requirements are included in the attached invite document. Space is limited
