The club house will be closed on Saturday, however, members still have access to grounds and toilets in the alley to the right of the braai area. If you do not have change room keys, please arrange to collect during office hours at R40 a key.
Sunday – Heritage Day, or rather, National Braai Day; The clubhouse will be open from 09h00 to 14h00, tuck shop open from 09h00 to noon. There is no planned club racing, members are encouraged to sail, gate starts are great and the buoys will be in the water.
OTHER NEWS
There has been a complaint from one of our senior members that their boat had been used for sailing in a race without permission.
To recap: PLEASE DO NOT borrow anything (dolly wheels, spars, rudders, spares or anything) from another members boat without the express permission from the boat owner.
Water Restrictions
With our current water crisis the following steps have been taken. The boat park taps have been turned off, please use the well point water tap at the corner of the fence at the bottom of Governors Walk. 2 minute shower rules apply.
Drones
The flying of drones from club premises or even on Zeekoevlei waters is banned by FBNR (False Bay Nature Conservation) unless special permission has been obtained from them and the pilot has his licence. We have had complaints from residents and trust that it does not apply to any of our members!
Members, we are still after empty HTH bottles to use as balers for our Optimist’s. Please bring if you have any.
Lastly but not least to close off, we wish all our members attending the Keel-boat Spring Regatta at Simonstown this weekend; Laser Nationals (Aolians), Finn & Sonnet Nationals (Swartvlei) good sailing and the best of luck!
Best Wishes,
on behalf of ZVYC,
Ron & Kathryn
