Members wishing to resign in good standing from the club are asked to please mail the club before our Opening Cruise on the 1st September. Should we not receive your written resignation, you will automatically be billed for the new season. See the Club Constitution HERE

Jungle Gym
We are on the lookout for a second hand jungle gym. Do you know of one (yours/your friends/family) that the kids have outgrown and needs a great new home? Please consider donating to the club to make plenty of children very happy for years to come.

420 Equipment
Our plans for the coming season to revive the school sailing programme are alive and well!
ZVYC won the tender for the 4x 420s (previously used by Sailpro) which was made possible through the donation from Joan Mallinson in memory of Noel. There is some budget left for them to be fixed up and Lotto grant to buy a few new racing sails. The boats have been cleaned & scrubbed by the Slater boys, but they are lacking in rigging and other items. If any members have any 420 bits or pieces that you could spare (sails, spars, foils, harnesses, trapeze wires … anything), we would be very grateful if you could drop it with us for our new fleet.

ProSec Security: Please note that the Pro-Sec guards will be patrolling the Zeekoevlei weir from 16h00 to 17h00.

Lastly, join us in the Upper Deck tomorrow night between 17h00 to 19h00 for “see you later” drinks with me, Kathryn, as well as my opportunity to thank you for giving me 3 1/2 wonderful years at the club. I have laughed, shed tears, met amazing friends (adults and children alike), learnt skills for life and will leave with very fond memories 🙂 Also, come and meet Muriel, who will be taking over from me next month…

Best wishes,
on behalf of ZVYC,
Kathryn & Karen
