FROSTBITE SERIES – Races 1 & 2 THIS SUNDAY
Are you boats ready for season? We are kicking off sailing this Sunday with the first of our Frostbite Series. 2 starts from Committee Boat in Stormy Bay, last finish in front of clubhouse off the jetty. There will be an entry sheet at the office and results will be captured on Sailwave. The prize giving will be held at the braai after Race 6 on the 27th Aug.
*We are looking for 2 safety boat drivers and Committee Boat help for each of the August Sunday’s. Please contact me at the club manager@zvyc.co.za.
Clubhouse and Tuck-shop open from 09h00, Galley will be open for lunch from 13h00, Upper Deck open after sailing!
We are also preparing our Optimist Dinghy’s for season: Parents, come down to the club on Sunday morning, bring the kids, we need to get the Opti’s out on the water so we know which need attention and which are good to go!
The weather forecast is looking good (slightly overcast) with a Southerly wind, 4 to 10 knots and a high of 14 deg C.

“Asenathi Jim & Elsje Dijkstra made the Gold Fleet and while their results were inconsistent, they had some good ones just outside the top 10 in 3 of the 6 Gold Fleet Races. They finished 24th out of 77 boats.
Michaela Robinson & Sibusiso Sizatu were unable to make the Gold Fleet cut, yet did not disgrace themselves in any way as they finished 53rd overall in a fleet of 77 boats.”
