Story Waves: Tales & Talks from Zeekoevlei with Serai Dowling

Everyone is welcome at Story Waves, a free event happening on Friday, 27 June 2025 at the Zeekoevlei Yacht Club.

18h30 meet and mingle

Serai Dowling will be sharing images and insights from her bestselling book, A Guide to Tidal Pools of the Western Cape. The talk starts promptly at 19h00.

About the talk

Serai takes us on a rich exploration of 34 of the region’s most beautiful pools, blending history, cultural memory, and practical guidance. Come and see previously unseen historical images from the archives of the most popular pools, and other points of interest that didn’t make it into the book, such as the engineering and architecture of some of the pools. Serai explains the cultural relevance of the pools and why now, more than ever, they can play a pivotal role in our heritage.
